Vishwaroopam 2 Release Date Announcement on November 7th?

Release by Christmas?

We could expect Vishwaroopam 2 to be released by December 2017

The evening of 30th September, 2017 turned out to be an important one in the cine as well as the political landscapes in more than one way, when Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan made two (if rather indicative) announcements on the stage of Bigg Boss Finale.

The first announcement was about his foray into Tamil Nadu politics, and the second one was about a sequel to his 1996 blockbuster "Indian", this one apparently titled "Indian 2". Both of these announcements bear a weight on the release date of his long awaited flick - Vishwaroopam 2.

India Today reported last week that IANS got news of Kamal Hassan planning to wrap up "Sabash Naidu" and "Vishwaroopam 2" before he begins shooting for "Indian 2". The source had also said that Vishwaroopam 2 "is just a few days away from completion".

Meanwhile, Director Shankar is reported to begin the pre-production for Indian 2 by February 2018 after the release of his top budget flick 2.0 (which in turn is expected to be in January 2018). That gives a pretty tight window for Ulaganayagan to wrap up all his ongoing projects.

In the middle of rapid developments in his next moves, Kamal Hassan is also expected to announce his own political party on his upcoming birthday - November 7, 2017. And there are already rumors coming in that he will announce the release date of Vishwaroopam 2 on the same day.

And The News Minute reports that the movie will be out for Christmas.

Having completed his contract with Star Vijay for Bigg Boss, Haasan will finish the pending work on Vishwaroopam 2 in the next two months and get the film out for Christmas.

But all rumors aside, Kamal Hassan himself had tweeted in February this year that he was "personally getting in to clear the path" and that it might take another 6 months.

Considering the delays caused by the fracture he suffered a few months ago, the timeline sticks well for December release.

So, all we could do for now is to sit back, and watch the events unfold, and that's likely to be very quick.
